Zoe-perry

Perry was born in Chicago to the actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. On the ABC sitcom Roseanne (as shown in flashback), her mother played Jackie Harris in two of Perry's early TV appearances. But her parents would not allow her to act until she was an adult, for fear of the effects stress would have on their daughter. Perry was shy in high-school and did not act. The actress began her acting career in the year 2000 at Northwestern University to gain friends when she moved to the university from Boston University. Perry moved to New York, where she landed small roles in series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent. The feeling of homesickness brought Perry back to California which was where theatre jobs were available. Her mother and she appeared on Broadway as a couple in The Other Place, in 2013. The show was directed by Eugene O'Neill. Pulitzer Prize winner Anna Christie, along with Kevin McKidd. This was staged at West Los Angeles' Odyssey Theatre Ensemble. Perry appeared in nine episodes of the ABC thriller The Family in 2016. Her father played her on her role on the ABC show Scandal. In addition, she played in the role of a younger Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon - an CBS spin-off of The Big Bang Theory. The role was given to her through audition, regardless of the fact that she has a family tie to the character.
